Logbook and final report are due in less than 1 month’s time. Gonna get busy working on them. Meantime, no updates till after November.
On a side note, I found this clipart online and suddenly thought that I may look like this one day when I step into the working life. Neatly-combed side parting, slightly plump, and most stikingly in resemblance, specs with BIG ROUND eyes.
Anyway, will have all the updates and my random daily thoughts posted from September till November after my report submission. Meanwhile, it’s a bye-bye to this place…
I was taking bus 969 from Tampines to Yishun this morning when I witnessed what seems to be the longest traffic jam that I’ve ever seen.
Woah!
And as if one ‘Woah!’ is not enough to describe the severity of the jam, listen to this.
WOAH WOAH WOAH!!!
It’s really exagerating! The only positive thing about it is that it’s in the oppposite direction as where my bus is travelling. The jam started along TPE around the IKEA and Courts region and stretched all the way to SLE and beyond. Too bad that my bus was turning out at the Yishun exit along SLE. Otherwise, I would know exactly how long the jam can go.
The traffic was in a complete standstill. Cars were not moving even an inch, with motorcyclists occasionally weaving through the traffic. Poor thing for those who are on the way to work. I think being 1 hour late is definitely out of the consideration. Applying for urgent morning half day leave would be a better solution. The jam is REALLY THAT SERIOUS.
What a jam!!
It’s been around 5 and a half months since I last touched any lecture notes. Nowadays, I’m getting more used to the 8.30 to 6 kind of working life, being stress-free from examinations and studies.
I was reading through a stack of notes on ACMV design, and in particular, ductwork design, when I realised how lazy I have become (in relations to reading notes, of course). My span for concentrating is getting shorter and shorter. The sleepy bugs are creeping into my mind in less than 10 minutes of staring at the notes. It’s not that I have a lack of sleep, because I slept at around 11pm last night.
This keeps me worrying about my next semester. How am I going to survive through the entire semester with all the thick stacks of notes and pass my exams with satisfying grades?
Coffee and sufficient sleep are probably not the solutions. Perhaps there is no cure at all for this deadly ‘virus’ – the sleepy bug.
12.30pm. The weather was bright and sunny.
1.30pm. The weather took a 180 degrees change and started pouring. It’s raining cats and dogs. Nope, to be more accurate, it’s raining giraffes and elephants. Sometimes I wonder why is it cats and dogs and not giraffes and elephants.
Anyway, I was out for lunch alone and didn’t bring an umbrella. Can’t blame myself. Nobody would expect this sudden drastic change in weather. Of course, I was stuck at the void deck of a HDB flat.
Luckily, I met 2 site supervisors who were also stuck and unable to get across the road to the site office. The office is so near, yet it seems so far. Even if we had umbrellas, we would still look like we have just come out of a shower with our clothes on when we reach the office.
Hence, together, we went to a nearby coffeeshop to la-kopi and enjoy the rainy scenary. To be honest, it’s my first la-kopi experience with ‘uncles’. But then again, la-kopi is not my first time. In fact, in youngster’s context, I thought la-kopi is just another expression to mean chilling out at cafes and holding a cup of Starbucks latte in the hand. So, regardless of which age group you belong to, it’s more or less the same.
Back to the topic. When we finally reached the office, the clock showed 2.15pm. Well, extra 45 minutes of break from the office confinement, all thanks to the rain =)
How many times have your friends encourage you to look forward and not think about the past whenever you have suffered a setback? This time, I don’t need any reminder, I’ll just tell myself to look forward, literally.
Here goes the story…
Was on the way home yesterday when bus 969 was so crowded as always and I had to stand throughout the journey. It was just like any normal trip back to Tampines. I was standing and holding the pole (or whatever you call that) and slightly tilting my head to the right to look at the ’scenaries’ outside the window during the bus ride. Upon alighting from the bus at Tampines Central, I felt like a handicap.
What’s wrong with me? Am I getting old? I can’t turn my head to the left last evening, and this morning , I can only restrict myself to look at what’s in front of me. I can’t even turn my head to the right too. How frustrating. Felt like there’s an invisible cast on my neck.
What rotten luck! In Singaporean’s context, how suay! -_-”

Really had no time for updating of blog. Tired from work on weekdays and ‘busy’ with relaxing over the weekends.
Shall work on it when I’m done with my log book entries… Stay tune!
It’s Min Choo’s (Gal’s younger sister) birthday celebration at AMK Hub’s Nebo cafe.

Can you spot the joker of the group? (Hint: He’s in the middle of the picture) Kelvin Lim! You can’t say that the group outing is fun and complete without him and his “on-the-spot” jokes around.
P.S: Pardon if the whole picture decoration looks super girly. Again, I just “control C” from Gal’s blog and “control V” onto my own =)

Perhaps I shouldn’t indicate the exclaimation mark at the end of the heading, because afterall, I didn’t feel so excited after catching the show.
Other than the realistic and cute animation, there is nothing much to compliment about. The storyline is way too simple and I thought the acting by the real humans is quite poor.
A miserly 2 and a half thumbs-up from me.

Just another random thought. Guess I was too bored in the office, wasn’t I?
Warning! The situation mentioned below is fictatious and purely based on my random thought. Any resemblances are just coincidences.
The official working hours of this particular company is 8.30am to 6.00pm.
Employee A reports for work everyday at 8.30am and leaves the office at 6.00pm sharp. The boss thinks that Employee A is puntual and efficient as Empoyee A is able to finish all of his/her work within the official working time frame.
Employee B comes to work everyday at 8.45am and knocks off at 7pm. Contrastingly, the boss says that Employee B is late and slow in his/her work as he/she needs to stay on extra minutes in order to complete the tasks.
Did anyone notice something, that in fact, Employee B spends more time at work than Employee A? Why isn’t Employee B considered as more driven and hardworking?
It’s funny to see how some bosses just think differently from the others, isn’t it?
